Anything homeopathic, non-prescription, etc?

Homeopathy – Here are some do’s and don’ts needed to remember that are required to prevent panic attack.

1. As with most medicines, keep homeopathic medicine in a cool dark place.

2. Don’t expose the remedy to strong scents or odors because its efficacy might diminish.

3. Avoid using facial cosmetics, lip balms, mint-flavored toothpaste and mouthwashes, and products with camphor.

4. Avoid drinking coffee because its essential oils might decrease the effectiveness of the remedy.

To treat anxiety, a dose of Gelsemium 6X every 15 to 20 minutes may help, but only up to a maximum of 4 doses. (Homeopathic cures classified as X have been diluted 1 to 10.) For worse cases of panic attacks, try a dose of 30C Aconite. (Homeopathic cures classified as C have been diluted 1 to 100.) Stop dosage when you begin to feel calmer.

I used the keep me busy method. When the feelings hit. DO something, clear your mind. Clean cook take a jog just dont let those feelings over welm you. I know that is easier said then done but you can do it. It may take a while to figure it out but its better then being doped up or not being in control

I used to have this problem something awful. I would turn on the radio and sing. Try to figure out what triggers your panic attacks and instead of focusing on them get your mind off of them. Try facing them instead of letting them take over your mind and body. Pray, could be a spirit haunting you. No lie. Lots of people just don’t know until they have had their own experiences. Keep praying and it will go away when you do not give over power to it. Fight your way to a healthier you. Good luck.

You might want to look up progressive relaxation. It is a process of relaxation where you intentionally tense your body up to completely relax it. Breathing techniques work too. Breath in for 7 counts, breath out for 11 counts – this keeps you from hyperventilating and preoccupies the mind from further catostrophic thinking. Look around where you are at and say out loud things you are looking at. Example "I see blue gummy bears", "the trash is full of white papers", "the air vent is blowing out cool air", "my glass is full of cold water" (then feel it), this is subject matter that is based on fact, while the panic attack is based on a false thought pattern.
Good luck – when you get feeling better research REBT. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. It has helped me alot.

What I do is find a smell that is calming..
Whenever I’m having one of those "moments" I light a candle.
    helps sometimes.
Other times when I’m able, I try to sleep it off….try to just lay down and take a quick nap

    Feel your pain….good luck

there is this weird thing my acupuncturist taught me. exhale through your nose and you will feel that out of one nostril more air is coming out. using you finger plug that nostril and exhale through your other nostril until the most air is coming out of that other nostril. sounds kinda funny, but it actually works. Whatever side of your nose is blowing out the most air shows which side of your brain is at work. by changing the flow of air you change which side of your brain is at work, thus interrupting your panic attack or preventing it.

    it sounds weird i know…

Don’t do anything about them buddy. Let them come and let them go. You have to open up the door and let them come though. If you run, they’ll chase you. And you know the faster you run the faster they chase you. Am I right? So don’t run. Everything is in time and nothing is forever; and so are your panic attacks. Let them come and watch them leave. This is how you work with and get rid of your panic attacks at the roots. Remember no more running. Stand there with dignity and keep the door of your heart and mind open for those thoughts and fears and pain and panic attacks to effortlessly enter and naturally leave. Have fun with your life adventure.

    God bless.

I totally agree with Tuskinin that method I learned from my therapist and it works even for small anxiety, another breathing one is make your mouth slightly you are going to whistle then draw in air as counting in your head 1, 2, 3, 4, hold 1, 2, then blow out slowly. I call it in with the good out with the bad. If these are things you won’t do you need to just get someplace by yourself.
