This seems like the only time i get, panic attacks. This is my forth day on Lexapro. I drive for a living, and i just hope my boss understands what i am going through.
I do when I’m in traffic…like when it’s at a standstill where you can’t go anywhere…you can’t pull over, you’re just stuck. If you’re having panic attacks due to the Lexapro, then you should talk to your doctor. If you’re taking Lexapro because of the panic attacks, then you may have to give it some time to start working. If you do some deep breathing when you start feeling panicky, it can help. It helps me a lot.

Not really………though i lov the sight of people panicking when they come within distance of my speeding zone.
It is pertinent to mention that i hav never ever been fined or involved in the accident.

I have been trying to drive here lately so i can make my license before my son goes to school.
I have panic attacks and anxiety but it is controlled by my medication (Xanax) but when it does come to driving i do get all tore up like if someone is riding my bumper or an 18 wheeler is getting ready to pass me. I have gotten so bad nervous that i turn off on side of the road and let my husband drive.
It is really sad when you think about it. I have had my permit since i was 17 and i have yet to make my license and i am now 26.
If you do think that lexapro is not helping tell your doctor cause i went through so many meds that did not help me (Some just made it worse) until the doctor wrote me out xanax. It helps me so much but i am just scared to drive because of all the other people out on the road cause they act like they are in a race driving so fast.
I feel for you but when you feel a panic attack coming on maybe you need to pull off of the road and wet your face down with cold water but it sounds like really you need to be on nerve pills. Ask your doctor and i wish you luck in overcoming this.

The bottom line always is that all of your fears, your reactions, your perceptions, your thoughts are under your own control. If you want to add some psychologic assurance, just surround yourself totally in white light. It is a signal to the universe – and to your consciousness that goodness does rule !

Make sure you maintain control and pull off the road safely when you feel one coming on. You are responsible for the safety of everyone on the road as well as yourself.
Yes I had one happen to me in a blizzard quite a few years back after I lost a twins pregnancy.
Very scary.

Oh, yeah! I hate cars. I hate being a passenger! I hate driving! My mom thought maybe it was because when I was kid, there was an accident, and though no one was hurt, we were trapped in the car for awhile. Then there was the time we ran over a block of hay and the hay caught fire under the car. That was scary.
But who knows? I’ve been in an airplane accident and I LOVE flying. My advice: another line of work! Good luck.
