I started getting anxiety/panic attacks and depression bout month ago am 23 weeks preg now. They are awful – I can’t sleep properly and am afraid to go to bed as this is where I got my first panic attack. I am terrified of baby’s health both physically and mentally coz of them and am scared that I will have this anxiety etc forever. Does anyone think it might be normal preg worries made way worse by hormones and is there anything to do/take to ease these symptoms

    well my sister is now 40 something weeks pregnant, her baby was due last saturday lol, don’t worry though, they do pass, because your hormone levels return to normal(ish), the only anxiety you feel is for the safety of your baby xx

    during pregnancy your body goes through a lot of changes and it can be very worrying just relax, and go with the flow. if your panic attacks are worrying you speak to your doctor or midwife they maybe able to help or give you a mild herbal sedative. just relax and stop worrying and i’m sure that things will straighten them selves out in time

    some woman’s take zoloft for anxiety but ur just 23 they start giving that medicine when u turn 28 weeks pregnant anyways u can ask to
    ur DR if she can give u any medicine for that,when i was that far along
    i felt the same was i had anxiety and depression b4 i got pregnant but
    i got em in my pregnancy on and off now i m 31 weeks pregnant and i m getting better now so just try not to think about it i kno its hard but
    there is nothing much u can do about it so just try to make urself relax
    and think about good stuff try to cope ur anxiety its not that hard u can do it,if i can do u can do it too i did not take any medicine i kno how hard it is but u dont worry everything will be pass and u,ll be fine again if u got em i mean those panic attacks and anxiety in pregnancy then ofcourse u,ll be fine after that if u got em b4 u got pregnant then its nothing to do with ur pregnancy.

    I had severe anxiety during my pregnancy. At first, I thought I was completely losing it and I felt very much alone.
    My doctor did eventually put me on Zoloft and colonopin for emergency purposes. I also had hyperemisis to boot. Once I was on the medication, I did begin to feel relief. Not 100%, but definitely better.
    There is a light at the ned of the tunnel, though. The minute my son was out of my body, I felt immediate relief from everything, anxiety, nausea – all the uncomfortable feelings of pregnancy.
    Looking back now, I know it was all related to hormones.
    My son is 14 months old now and I’m getting ready to conceive again. I’m just happy I know better for next time.
    I wish you all the best.
    Please know, you are NOT going crazy. Your hormones are and this is all treatable.
