Treatment for generalized anxiety and panic attacks?
I have recently begun treatment with a new psychiatrist for depression and anxiety. I’ve been on wellbutrin for years but quit when i got pregnant. i ended up having a miscarriage and was feeling alright until around 5-6 months later. My old psychiatrist retired ( who i hadn’t seen in years) so i’ve started with a new one. We resumed the wellbutrin and short term treatment with xanax since i had used it previously with my other doctor for a few months. What i didn’t realize was the start dose he put me on was very low. .25-.5 mg three times a day. This hadn"t been effective when i last used it so i ended up taking one extra pill daily. ( at night for sleep problems). well i ran out obviosly early and tried to call in the refill thinking there wouldn’t be a problem only asking for half the prescription because i had a upcoming check up with her. The pharmacist refused and it was over the week-end. I had a full blown panic attack. this scares me. I called the doctor on call and felt like an idiot but explained exactly what i’d been taking. I will call monday but I’m concerned that the reaction I had means I addicted even though it’s only been 2 weeks on the meds. Any advice? I am scared and am still experiencing a hard time breathing. Please, what would you do?
If I were you I’d try to get off the xanax. You could be experiencing physiological dependence along with some tolerance. If the wellbutrin does not help, there are many other options. SSRIs and SNRIs are generally pretty helpful for panic, you could try some others. Also, if you are concerned about the meds, you could try some relaxation techniques and behavior therapy, maybe have your psychiatrist refer you to a psychologist who can do this. These therapies are generally very helpful for anxiety, even in the absence of drug treatment.

Its possible that your drop in medication caused you to react but Im really answering to speak to you about other treatments. Medication will provide you with necessary support but you will also need to look at the causes and the reasons for your anxiety. this can mean exploring your growing up experiences and resolving some feelings that may have been unsupported in your past and leaving you with anxiety that sort of hangs around as you grow up. Psychotherapy is a really good way of doing this and you can find a practitioner on these websites. do think about giving it a try (UKCP, BACP, UKAHPP) Your psychiatrist should be able to talk to you about NHS options for treatment if they are available in your area.

There are 2 programs out there that are famous for treating Panic Attacks and Anxiety successfully.
They are: Panic Away and The Linden Method.
You may wonder, "Which one is better?" Don’t worry, you’re not the only one with that question.
The Panic Away program is more appropriate for people who can cope with their Panic Attacks or Anxiety well.
Linden Method is more for those who aren’t really good in coping their Panic Attacks or Anxiety well.
Check out the reference for the full comparison.

I arrived here unintentionally. When I did a search in Google, your site was at number 1 yet is not about what I was looking for. Just wanted to write a message to say to you that I like the style and design of your website.
Hard to say. I doubt either team will go the whold distance to the Super Bowl again. It’s a good time to make Superbowl bets though, the odds are really high.
