I already went through two panic attacks recently during which I had to be taken into hospital. Whenever I am experiencing those panic attacks I feel like I am going insane there is fear inside me that makes me tremble and makes my whole body cold. i hyperventilate and experience pains in some areas of my bodies, chest especially. My heart so fast that it feels like it is goign to rip a hole through my chest.
I need to know if there are any available "home made" treatments. And what is there to prevent them.. as well as what can I when I get a sudden panick attack.
I am taking Ativan and Paxil. I was taking Xanax but it does not work on me any longer.
Let me brifely describe what I think causes my panic attacks
I am in BAD finanical situation which creates lots of stress. I am working in a stressful evnironment. Recently, I am expriencing anxiety and I do not want to deal with many people and just want to be left alone.
Help, please.
I use to have bad attacks. I was given Topamax I believe when I was younger. Then a few years ago I was on Klonopin, then later Valium and Xanax. I think Klonopin was the best. The ER doctor told me to avoid caffeine and to rub my neck when I have an attack. I was on a plane the other day and had a slight attack. I was freaking out but I just looked around and told myself it would pass and it eventually did.

Well, hyperventilation delivers an overdose of oxygen in the blood, and to the brain. The old "breathing into a paper bag" method works by re-introducing CO2 into the body and lowering the oxy level, Being a psychological problem, its difficult to self-treat, If u dont try to fight it u will eventually feint which is actually a good thing as ur brain will go back into "auto-pilot" and self regulate. But its not a good idea to loose consiousness if ur on ur own at the time. try to openly recite song lyrics or ur 8Xtables which will force ur breathing to slow, and pre-occupy the brain with something else.

There are 2 programs out there that are famous for treating Panic Attacks and Anxiety successfully.
They are: Panic Away and The Linden Method.
You may wonder, "Which one is better?" Don’t worry, you’re not the only one with that question.
The Panic Away program is more appropriate for people who can cope with their Panic Attacks or Anxiety well.
Linden Method is more for those who aren’t really good in coping their Panic Attacks or Anxiety well.
Check out the reference for the full comparison.
