I have them randomly. They arent brought on by any certian situation. I would prefer not to be on any type of medication for them. But I am not opposed to natural treatment. I guess Im just looking for all the answers I can get.

Please don’t listen to those other people who said beer or weed. Those won’t help at all and could even cause other problems like addiction.

There are medications available, as you know, but there are also self-help techniques that work very well. Do some research online to see what will work best for you.

Sometime you can use breathing methods to slow down your heart rate and calm yourself. Do web search for "relaxation breathing."

Quick breaths in very cold air will help.
Also, have three cups of chamomile tea every day. (The American Indians – at least seven different nations or tribes – used chamomile tea as a mild sedative and anti-xylotic. It has also been used to help with "female problems" for more than five centuries.)

beer and/or weed can actually intensify panic attacks in some people, especially the next day when they are in hangover mode….dealing with panic attacks: breath into a paper bag (they say it doesn’t work but it might calm you down), go for a fast jog or a walk to release the extra energy (it doesn’t feel like it will work but after the first minute you will be tired and forget your panic attack), pray (always worked for me), take a very hot or cold shower (shock your system to calm it down, it worked for me, not always practical), drink some warm milk or hot chamomile tea, eat turkey (makes you sleepy/calms you down), sit down and think about what’s bothering you and have a good cry(release the stress), these are just some of the things I’ve heard or have tried and they worked for me, they may or may not work for you.

I have panic attacks too. I started see the counsellor on March 2008. Learning some breathing technique. I practise the breathing daily. I do the breathing technique before the panic attacks come. (It is difficult to do if the panic attacks come). Deep breath in and count for one, two, three, breath out slowly, continue do for one min. If your heart beat still fast, do the breathing for another min. Do not concentrate on your body, concentrate on other things. Not easy to flight with the panic attacks. I am trying hard. Hope we can recover soon.
