Panic attacks / Excessive excitement?
Okay my first question has to do with panic attacks. Anytime I drink like, a cappucino or an energy drink, I have a panic attack. Do I need to get treatment/medicine for this, or should I just let it go?
Second question. Sometimes I have this excessive excitement. Like I’ll look at my friend count on myspace, and picture it going up and up in my mind and i’ll put my fingers up by my mouth and twiddle them together and have an awkward breathing pattern. I also do this when I think about pulling a car into a driveway and the wheels turning and going up the bump, but it mostly happens with things with numbers, such as profile views, friend counts, text message counts, etc. I also do it when I play video games. I’ve been doing this ‘excessive excitement’ thing since I was like 4. I remember playing Mario Kart and doing it. I’ve never seen anyone else do it or have this kind of thing happen to them, and I’m wondering what it is.
well, i have an anxiety problem and i know that caffiene only triggers attacks, so stay away! you might want to find a therapist for that other part, im not sure…sorry im not more help. good luck.

Erm i can only really help with the panic attacks, this is probably something to do with caffeine, as the drinks you describe contain it. Maybe you have an intolerance.

Practice one of the relaxation methods on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i, daily, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris PANIC ATTACKS: View the techniques for control of panic attacks, in section 8, at ezy build, below. Begin, on this first occasion, only, by holding your breath for 5, or 10 seconds: this will give you the confidence to realise that YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR BREATHING, but not pass out, or die (your autonomic nervous system resumes breathing, if you become unconscious). Understand panic attacks, and what triggers them, in your life (if it is unresolved anxiety, or stress, see sections 6, or 42, respectively). The paper bag method works for most people: try it. If you are fairly suggestible, the following are reliable: http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/
Your last alternative is psychotherapy, to address its fundamental cause: read section 1, and examine the http://www.1-800-therapist.org/ website, and use the locators, and phone book. I used to suffer from panic attacks, until I questioned what had changed recently in my life, to trigger them. I suggest that you learn, then practise the controlled breathing technique, until competent, then employ it, at the very first sign of a panic attack. Also, give the EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. There is also a version for use in public places, (if you like, you can claim to have a headache, as you massage/lightly tap your temples, but you would then be restricted to subvocalising: saying it to yourself in your mind). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris also refer: "Even though I sometimes suffer from panic attacks, I deeply and completely accept myself." Avoid all products containing caffeine: it is one of your triggers.

Hi,
If you feel a panic attack or feelings of anxiety creeping up on you then try this word repetition technique that I learned that helps me to quickly ‘snap out’ of my panic attacks:
I simply repeat the words ‘cream cake’ over and over in my head as quickly as I can without stopping. You could use any word or words you like really but that’s what I chose (because I like cream cakes). It apparently works because it doesn’t give your brain time to process the panicky thoughts and so helps you to relax again. Seems strange I know … but it works for me!
There’s also a free ebook that I found really useful called ‘Get Rid of Panic and Anxiety for Good’. If you want to take a look you can find it at: http://curepanicattacks.premiergold.info/get-rid-of-panic.html Even though I got it for free it has helped me absolutely loads!

Caffeine is a wonderful trigger for a panic attack, especially if you’re prone to having them. If you have panic attacks other than after you’ve consumed a caffeinated drink, and frequently, you might want to go see your doctor about it.
As for the second part of your question, it just sounds like there are certain things that really excite you for one reason or another. Is it possible that with the profile views, friend and text counts, you’re feeling important or well-liked by others? That’s always a good feeling :)
