is it normal to have panic attacks when someone tells you they believe in ghosts or religion etc?

my heart stars beating really fast and i feel like i have to cry and i have to walk away and calm myself down when someone tells me that because it scares me so much how many people believe in that sorta stuff, does this happen to you?
Otto, why talk about demons when u know they aernt true! good one now you got me freaking out.

You are not a true atheist. A true atheist would not be afraid of ghosts or religion. The fact that you ares hows that you believe there is ghosts and religion and you are afraid you are not a member of the right group. Accept the fact that there may be some religions or even ghosts that you cannot explain and go on with your life. Otherwise you will be scared forever. The other alternative is to find out what you really believe and learn more about it. And do not let anyone tell you that religion or ghosts are scary. They are only scary if you do not understand them.

No… But i used to. I’m used to it now… as you get older and older it’s easier to get through things that were once hard to before.

if you have a demon inside of you maybe. talk to a priest, specifically catholic since they believe in ghosts as well, and find out what exactly is going on because there could be trouble

Well you have done the right thing by walking away and catching your breath. I’m a christian and we are the most hated religion on the face of the planet. No one believes me or that christ existed; but that should not give the right to judge them nor I judge you. What’s my point.. if someone tells you they saw something (Ghost) that is out of the Norm or they are of a differnt faith or religion.. you can’t prove that they are lieing or telling the truth.
If you don’t believe them that is your problem and there should be no panic attack. I caould do the same when people say "there is no God" but I don’t; because it between you and him… not me and you.

well I am male, beer in mind that some males are different from females. I wouldn’t do anything but ask this guy and ask if whatever he is saying is true but not some mickie mouse hocus pocus imagination. If its real then life goes on by me, till ill see it, them, that’s when thinks will change.

Tell yourself that ghosts, demons, and religions aren’t proven to be 100% true yet and try to look these things up with a clear mind for some more information about them. Can be tough to cope with but you need to face your fears at one point. But no worries, you can get over them when you try enough!

(I’m not saying that religions are all false. We can believe in what we want to believe, but it’s going to be a while until we know what’s true or not)

To say there are no such things as ghost or religion or demons or angels is a little bit naive. There is no proof they exist or that they dont exist. If you freak out when somebody tells you something about this stuff or talks about these things I would say you believe in it. This does not happen to me I am a fan of Ghost hunters, and the show Paranormal State. But I must say that when I am sitting in my apartment after watching these shows I do turn on a couple of lights. As far as religion goes that is why we have freedom of religion it is up to you weaker or not you want to believe. And it should never be forced upon you.
