I’m lucky coz I don’t have them any more, but you are right! So many women get anxious, stressed, depressed, hyperactive, manic or just plain murderous around this time – amazingly, it seems to disappear as the period starts. Evening primrose oil helps (but you need to take it daily all the time. Also, make sure you don’t go too long between meals, try to eat little and often to help keep your blood-sugar levels stable as this helps you avoid ‘highs’ and ‘lows’. Talk to your gp – there’s lots out there to help if you are suffering on a regular basis.

it can be affected by this with your hormones going up and down an such but i think its all on stress, i had anxiety attacks for week before my first big kayaking trip, and it was something i should not have been worried about but i think i get more emotional with my period not more anxiety attacks, but its really onhow your body works and how your hormones are

Yes it does, alot of anxiety is hormone related and as you get nearer to period you will notice an increase in attacks and being unsure of yourself. Once you see a pattern you will feel better about yourself and when you feel one coming on say to your self its just hormones and the feeling will be gone soon.

of course! Hormones do not help the situation at all.

Yes, that happens to me too.

If you want to be sure, you need to keep a diary for a few months and also keep a check on when your periods are. A chat with your doctor might also help.

Yes, that could happen because of your period. When i’m getting to that time, I have anxiety and am moody, more depressed and everything…sooo….yea. But then after I start, i’m okay. lol

yes i always get them from when i ovulate until i get my period then i am calm and happy until i ovulate again! this is not uncommon at all and many women have the same problem. i use rescue remedy around this time and take calcium and magnesium for that two week period. it helps and it helps with cramps too
