I have panic disease, but since I know that this is the reason for my attacks, I am not afraid of it. I still feel these attacks, but they do not schock me as much, and I feel ok afterwards.
If there is any way to avoid the anti – depressant and tranquilizer medicines, I would like to.
Not to mention that I am not depressed at all. I only feel the physical sympthoms of this panic disorder.
If you could tell me any tips of how to get healthy again without taking medicines, I would be very thankful.

Bach Flower Rescue Remedy can be a great aid in overcoming an attack. Take a few drops under the tongue at the onset.

Homeopathic Aconite (aconitum napellus) 1M, six pellets per dose, two times a day, until you go for 10 days without an attack.

In the meantime, meditation will also help not only the panic attacks, but overall health and well-being, as well. If you’re new to meditation, I would suggest a book and CD by Wayne Dyer called "Getting in the Gap". It’s a wonderful beginner set.

If meditation doesn’t sound like something you’d like to try, please consider some type of yoga or Tai Chi. Either of those would help you, as well.



My psychologist is using it as a treatment for me and I feel skeptical. I haven’t given it a go yet to test it.
To all the poeple who just want to say it’s only a placebo. I don’t care if it’s a placebo or not. If it cures panic and anxiety or appears to it’s good enough by me. When you have agoraphobia you have nothing to lose, so placebo to get me a life……bring it on!!!

to each their own but i have taken medications for this that worked but had various side effects –i settled on avoidance,when posible,learning my triggers and if nothing else ,get into my safe zone

Panic attacks and Exams?

I’m in year 10 and i’m sitting my Trial School Certificate english and science exams tomorrow and i am scared that i will have a panic attack in the middle of it.

I have had about 50 panic attacks over the past 2 months (mostly during the night).
I am in the process of recieving treatment and i have an appointment with a Psychietrist next week.

My question is:
Should i tell my year co-ordinator about my panic attacks so that she can tell my teachers to let me leave the room when i need to?

A) Have your mom write a signed note explaining your problem with panic attacks, then name the Dr you will be seeing.
B) In your mom’s note she should request a "modification" or "accomodation" for your testing.
C) As soon as you step onto the school grounds, hand that note to your school counselor / co-ordinator or vice principal (if you don’t know who to go to). Verbally ask for a "modification in your testing due to panic attacks"

D) The modification usually offered by the school is that you may take the test in a fairly quiet room where an adult is, that is not the classroom. Sometimes a timed test can be taken without the pressure of limited time.

E) Obtain a written and signed note from your counselor – make copies for yourself and each of your teachers.

F) When at your psychiatrist’s do ask that he write you a note on his prescription pad/letterhead requesting a specific modification for your testing. – Make a copy for yourself – Deliver the original to your school counselor to keep on file.
